Eco Ocean Escapes was born from a deep love of the ocean, an obsession with exploring the world and a desire to rethink the way we experience our coastal destinations.
As surfers and divers, we’re incredibly fortunate to have the opportunity to connect with some of the planet’s most spectacular marine environments.
But with that privilege comes responsibility.
While surf and dive tourism can bring valuable opportunities to coastal communities, it isn’t always developed in a way that protects the ecosystems and people that make these places so special.
Too often, rapid tourism growth comes at the expense of fragile coastlines, marine habitats and local communities. Short-term profits can take priority over long-term conservation, leaving the very environments travellers come to experience under increasing pressure.
That’s why Eco Ocean Escapes exists. We want to shine a spotlight on surf camps, dive resorts and ocean adventures that are doing things differently. We seek out and highlight experiences that prioritise sustainability, protect marine ecosystems and encourage travellers to become part of the solution.
